A Lafayette baker and cake designer will compete on a new Food Network competition series that begins tonight.

Kayla Giddings will be a part of "Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking" which begins airing tonight at 7:00 pm.

Who are the hosts of "Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking?"

The series is hosted by actors James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter series.

How long will the show run?

Over the next six weeks, the competition show brings pairs of professional pastry chefs and cake artists to compete at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in England, on the original sets where Harry Potter's magical journey was brought to life on screen.

Giddings is teamed up with her baking partner, Yohann Le Bescond, who was born and raised in Brittany, France, but now lives in Ocala, Florida. However, he's a pastry chef, not a cake artist like Giddings.

How many competitors are on "Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking?"

18 contestants are competing on the show (9 teams). Each week during the elimination-style series, the duo teams will create massive, spellbinding, and delicious showpieces inspired by moments and themes from the Harry Potter series and present their creations to judges Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef.

Fans of the Harry Potter series will be thrilled to see several iconic locations of the films used in this baking competition including The Great Hall, the Forbidden Forest, and more.

Special guests on the series

Throughout the series, there will be special guests from the films, including Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), joining the expert judges and sharing behind-the-scenes experiences.

The winning team will be awarded the first-ever Wizards of Baking Cup and the opportunity to appear in a new Harry Potter Cookbook. (And we're pretty sure there is a cash prize as well.)

Has Kayla Giddings been on other baking competition shows?

This is not close to the first experience on national television for Kayla Giddings.

She has previously been a contestant on several Food Network shows including "Cake Wars," "Cake Wars: Champs," "Food Network Challenge," "Santa's Baking Blizzard," "Chocolate Meltdown: Hershey's After Dark."

Most recently, Giddings was on Netflix's "Is It Cake, Too?" which aired last year.

We recently sat down with Kayla Giddings for an interview. While she couldn't tell us how well she finished on "Wizards of Baking," she did give us a little insight into her experience on the show.

"It was timed and we got challenges and it was all Harry Potter-based and it was all sorts of things that connected us to the movie and all of these things. And as you can imagine, Harry Potter is so huge and there are so many different parts that we were able to pick apart and make cakes out of. It was crazy," said Giddings.

Again, "Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking" airs tonight (Nov. 14) at 7:00 pm on The Food Network. Best of luck, Kayla!
