If you've lived in the Acadiana area for any amount of time over the last decade, you've probably seen Dalfred Jones on local television as a reporter and news anchor. Sadly, we won't be seeing the beloved journalist's face on our TVs anymore.

A few weeks ago, Jones announced he was leaving KLFY News 10 after more than 11 years with the company. What he was doing after this and where he would be heading was unknown...until now.

Jones, a native of Lafayette, posted on his Facebook page yesterday that he is indeed staying in the business, just not here in Lafayette.

He announced that he has taken a job in the industry as an anchor/reporter for WBTV in Charlotte, North Carolina and that he and his family are moving.

It was unclear whether Jones would stay in the television business after his mid-October announcement that he was leaving KLFY.

In a social media post then he alluded to the fact that he would be staying in Lafayette and somehow working with the youth in the area:

After eleven unforgettable years with the KLFY family, I’ve accepted a new opportunity that will allow me to expand the impact I’ve made here in Lafayette...I’m especially excited about the chance to continue being a positive influence for the youth of Lafayette—showing them that no dream is too big and that hard work can open doors beyond what we imagine.

But, of course, as his recent Facebook post states, he is indeed going to continue working in television, just not here in Acadiana.

From his popular "Dial Dalfred" series to his great work as a reporter and behind the desk as an anchor, we know we speak for the majority of Acadiana in saying that you will be missed, sir.

Best wishes on this next chapter in life!
