
Acadiana Fireworks This Weekend: Where Can You See Them?
(KMDL-FM) July 4th is one week away, and since Independence Day falls on a Friday, many communities are adjusting their holiday celebrations accordingly. The reason for the adjustments usually has to do with staffing and security as well as the booking of talent for these celebrations, and there are quite a few that you'll want to know about for this weekend, June 27th and 28th.
Also, if fireworks are your thing, you'll find the bi-annual blooming of fireworks stands across South Louisiana has sprung up like all those mushrooms did after all that rain last week. Most of those fireworks stands will be in operation this weekend, all of next week, and will cease operations on the July 4th weekend.

If you do choose to create your own fireworks show, please be safe and make sure that you supervise the kids. It's always a good idea to check the surrounding area for potential fire hazards. It would probably be a good idea to have a fire extinguisher or bucket of water handy, just in case, right?
When is the Fireworks Show in Scott, Louisiana?
For those who prefer to let the professionals do the blasting of incendiary devices, there are some shows and celebrations this weekend that you could certainly bring the family out for.
The City of Scott's Independence Day Celebration is tonight, Friday, June 27th. Festivities will run from 6 until 9 this evening. In addition to a fireworks show planned for 8:45 tonight, the celebration will have food on hand and music provided by a DJ.
Admission to the Scott Independence Day Celebration is free, and that is thanks to several community-minded sponsors who are helping to foot the bill. So when you see their booths in Scott tonight, tell them thank you for the party.
When Is the Fireworks Show in Carencro, Louisiana?
Tomorrow's big party is in Carencro. The City of Carencro is hosting an Independence Extravaganza at Pelican Park. The event will also serve as a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Pelican Park Concession and Restroom Facility. You may recall that those facilities were damaged by a fire a few months back. That is scheduled for 7:30 on Saturday night.
In addition to the formal opening of the new facilities, the free celebration will feature an assortment of food choices, live music, and the evening will culminate with a fireworks display after dark.
Where Are There Fireworks Displays in South Louisiana for July 4th?
Beginning next week, Erath will kick off their annual 4th of July Festival and celebration. There will also be fireworks and festival fun in Youngsville, Broussard, Eunice, Lake Arthur, Lafayette, and other surrounding communities. Check back with us for details on those events next week.
