Shuttle Buses for Kiwanis Football at Acadiana High School
If you're like most people around Acadiana, you know that high school football is almost a religion, and things have kicked off.
This year's 72nd Annual Kiwanis Club of Lafayette High School Football Jamboree is always the kickoff event to what will hopefully be another exciting season for local teams.
Some teams played last night, and there are more games tonight.
With the jamboree this year comes a few changes though, as so many changes are being made over at Cajun Field. The renovations at Cajun Field are going to mean that Kiwanis football games will have to be played at another location, or in this case, two other locations.
The teams that will be playing tonight, Friday, August 30, will be playing at Acadiana High School which is located at 315 Rue du Belier. The games to be played there include the following:
Breaux Bridge versus Acadiana High School
Comeaux High School versus Cecilia High School
Northside High School versus St. Martinville
Because tonight's game between Acadiana High School and Breaux Bridge High School will likely be a highly attended event, officials with the Lafayette Parish School System have decided to offer overflow parking at an additional location to the Acadiana football stadium.
Two buses will be provided to shuttle people to parking that will be available at Family Life Church. The buses will take those who are attending the game back and forth to the stadium.
The shuttle bus service begins at 5:00 p.m.
Each game will consist of 2 12-minute halves along with a 3-minute halftime.
It's $15 to get into the gate for each night, and both stadiums have a clear bag policy.
Another thing to know is that weapons detectors will be at the entrance of each venue. Anyone entering either of the stadiums will have to go through the detectors. Also, vaping and e-cigarettes are not allowed.
