(Baton Rouge, Louisiana) - The country is talking about LSU and it's not in the best of terms, especially since it has been reported what the former Athletic Director Scott Woodward will be paid to leave the university.

As we've previously reported, Woodward elected to leave LSU after Governor Jeff Landry stated that Woodward would have no say in who the next LSU football coach would be. And his departure came just days after LSU fired Brian Kelly.

Reports indicate that Kelly is owed up to $53 million in his buyout, but this number has not been confirmed, as other reports suggest iit could be substantially less.

Whatever Kelly's buyout turns out to be, it will be a substantial amount of money, and boosters may cover the bill; if not, this could fall to the state of Louisiana, which has prompted Gov. Landry to remove LSU's A.D., Scott Woodward.

On Friday, I heard Dan Patrick report that Woodward's buyout, to leave LSU, was just over $6 million, which seems like a lot for an athletic director, so I searched the social media platform X to see if there was any other reporting noting that amount, and here's what I came across.

Ross Dellenger, who's very tied into LSU sports, reported this regarding Woodward's buyout, and it runs parallel to what Dan Patrick reported on his nationally syndicated radio show.

Here's what some had to say after Dellenger reported the $6.4 million buyout for the former athletic director.

LSU Athletics held a press conference on Friday morning (Oct. 31), and it was made clear who would have oversight when it comes to hiring the next LSU head football coach. Please note that LSU currently does not have a university president on payroll, although reports indicate that a new president for LSU will be announced soon.
