(Cankton, Louisiana) - A viral social media post from over the weekend reported that a priest in South Louisiana was taken to a medical facility by an ambulance after experiencing a medical issue during a church service.

Lonnie Breaux posted on Facebook that the priest at St. John's Berchman's Church in Cankton was taken away by an ambulance on Saturday after he experienced a medical issue.

Many in Acadiana immediately started sharing Breaux's post, asking for prayers for the priest, and now we have an update on the priest's condition, who was taken to the hospital. According to Breaux, Father Domingue passed out while conducting the service.

Father Domingue returned home to rest, and Lonnie Breaux, along with many more, thanked everyone for their prayers.

I recall as a kid often seeing people pass out while in church, and it can be a frightening sight for some. Here are some ways to avoid dehydration.

How to Avoid Dehydration

Drink plenty of water throughout the day, aiming for eight glasses. You can also substitute water for electrolyte-rich sports drinks.

You should try to avoid caffeine-rich drinks.

Eating a healthy breakfast each morning with water-rich fruit is another excellent way to stay hydrated.

Dehydration Symptoms

If you notice dry mouth, fatigue, headaches, or dizziness, you could be dehydrated. Another common sign of dehydration is dark or yellow urine. Medical professionals suggest setting alarms on your phone throughout the day to remind you to drink water.

Here was the update on the priest who fainted in Cankton over the weekend, and we are glad to hear that his medical issue was nothing serious and that he will likely be fine.

Did Anyone Watch These TV Shows in the 1980s and 1990s?

While you might think “watching while distracted” is a modern habit, even back in the day the TV was just… there, humming along while you did other things. These were the shows that weren’t exactly “must-see TV,” more like “might-see TV” — part of the culture, but you had to wonder: who was actually watching?
