(Lafayette, Louisiana) - Marc Broussard took to social media to let his fans know why he had to cut his set short while performing in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Jazz Festival.

The Carencro native said that he didn't feel great while driving himself to New Orleans, and as soon as he took the stage in front of thousands of people, he got worse.

Marc explained how he pushed through a few songs, but as time passed, he started to feel worse while on stage. At one point during his performance, the local artist said he thought that he may have been having a heart attack.

In his video message, which you will see below, he says that he told his drummer that he may never sing another song in his life, he felt that bad.

Sadly, Marc had to leave the stage early and went to get medical attention backstage. After being evaluated by paramedics, they determined that he was suffering from severe dehydration and was not having heart issues.

The singer was able to replenish fluids with IV therapy, and he says it worked instantly. Amazingly, he was able to drive back home after this scare in New Orleans, and he appears to be just fine.

What Are The Signs of Dehydration?

The most common sign that you are dehydrated is feeling thirsty, or you experience "dry mouth." Other symptoms may include dry lips, dark urine, or difficulty urinating.

Someone who is dehydrated may also feel lightheaded or dizzy, and experience headaches and fatigue.

We're glad Marc is better, and we can't wait to see him again on stage. Here's Marc explaining what happened to him while in New Orleans at Jazz Fest 2025.
