St Martin Parish Sheriff Has Young Adults Explain Crime Commited
(St. Martin Parish) - A viral video from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office is one that every parent should show to their kids.
The video, linked below, shows several young men standing alongside Sheriff Becket Breaux, explaining their actions and reminding others not to do the same.
The internet and social media are wonderful, but sometimes people post too much information, as they did here.
Sheriff Breaux asked the young men to join him in a video so they could explain what they did and hopefully keep others from repeating it. The young men drove their trucks onto private property, went "mud riding," and damaged the property with their tires.
From clips of the videos they posted on social media, you can see large ruts in the mud, showing they damaged land they shouldn't have been on. Knowing that young people make mistakes, the Sheriff asked them to encourage others not to trespass and to be careful what they post on social media.
The young men, whom I applaud for owning up to their mistake and for joining Sheriff Breaux in the video, reminded others to always seek permission before going onto someone else's land and to be very careful what you post on social media.
Not only did their video lead authorities to them, but videos of their actions could also encourage others to do the same, and both the Sheriff and the young men in St. Martin Parish discourage that.
