List of Mardi Gras Events Happening This Weekend in Acadiana

Mardi Gras fun that everyone in the family can enjoy kicks off this weekend.

Carencro Mardi Gras Parade

To kick things off in great fashion, the Carencro Mardi Gras Association will be holding its 40th annual Mardi Gras parade on Saturday, January 27. The parade will begin at Carencro High School and will end at the Carencro Community Center.

The roads will close at 10 a.m.

The Carencro Parade begins at 11 a.m.

Mardi Gras in Welsh

There is also another parade in our area that will happen on Saturday. Officials with the city of Welsh say their Mardi Gras parade featuring more than 35 floats will start at 3:30 Saturday afternoon.

A street dance featuring music, food, and other vendors will begin at 10 o'clock Saturday morning in Welsh. It's five dollars to get in to listen to all of the bands, and children 12 and under get free admission to the grounds.

They also plan to have a traditional Mardi Gras run with a chicken. The chase begins earlier in the morning on Saturday.

Sunset Mardi Gras Wagon Parade

The Sunset Wagon Parade is scheduled for Sunday morning at 11 a.m. You can click here for more information. The event is free for the whole family.

You can go to the Sunset Community Center at 108 Leo Richard Lane before 11 a.m. They start closing the roads at that time. The day will be full of activities for your children.

Prizes are given out for best-themed wagons.

New Iberia Parade

The Bayou Mardi Gras Parade will be held in New Iberia, on Sunday, January 28. The parade will kick off at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon.

Originally the parade was scheduled for Friday night, but because of the weather forecast, they decided to move the parade to Sunday afternoon when there is no precipitation in the forecast.

The parade follows along Main Street in New Iberia adjacent to the Bayou Teche.

The Bayou Mardi Gras Parade offers Mardi Gras fun in a family-friendly environment.

King Cake Bread Pudding Bake Off

The second annual King Cake Bread Pudding Bake Off will be held on Sunday, January 28 from 1 to 4 in the afternoon at the West Line Event Center at 325 Apollo Road in Scott.

Kids 10 and under get in free. It's five dollars to go into the event, and that money is being donated to Healing House, Hope for Grieving Children.

For the five dollars, you get to taste king cake bread pudding from 16 different vendors!
