Inaugural Mermaid Parade Set to Debut in South Louisiana
A new parade is coming to south Louisiana and if you or someone you know is a fan of mermaids you'll like this news.
The parade is scheduled to happen in New Orleans on Sept. 2 at 6:30 pm. The parade will roll down the French Quarter riverfront and will then head through Woldenberg Park.
The parade, which will include mermaids and other aquatic features will conclude at the plaza beside the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas.
If you'd like to enter you can and there is a $15 entry fee for each participant. To enter, visit Krew Da Fool, as they are the ones coordinating and producing this first-ever parade in New Orleans.
According to NOLA.com, you can also pay the fee in person on the day of the parade, starting at 5:30 pm.
At the conclusion of the parade, there will be a costume contest and those best dressed will be awarded on-site.

Organizers hope for a great turn out and if all goes as planned, this could become an annual event in the city.
