Halloween will fall on a Thursday night this year.  If you are still trying to figure out your costume, we've got an easy way to do it.

You want an easy, funny idea so you can enjoy the festivities without breaking the bank.

Some cities celebrate the night of Halloween, while some neighborhoods decide to hold a Halloween block party the weekend before. You can be sure that there will be many events set all around Acadiana leading up to Halloween night.

Where Can You Go Before Halloween and Halloween Night for Fun?

There are countless places to find a pumpkin patch for pictures, there is a Fright Trail in Scott where you have twenty acres of frightening fun, and countless Trick-or-Trunk events where kids will be able to get candy. There is plenty to do, but what do you wear?

If you are interested in Trunk-or-Treat, Lafayette Police Department's annual Trunk-or-Treat event will be held at Girard Park on Wednesday, October 30 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The address is 500 Girard Park Drive.

What Should Your Halloween Costume Be?

Now that you have ideas about what to do for Halloween, the big question is "What will you wear?: Have you thought of any costume ideas for Halloween?

Well, if you're someone who can't make up your mind, you are going to be very thankful for this fun suggestion. Your kids will love this too. It will likely make them laugh even if they don't take the suggestions.

Your kids or you might even decide you need to dress up based on the suggestions. Some years, you know exactly what you'll dress up as to go and visit friends to hand out candy, but if you have no idea, ask for help.

How Do You Get a Halloween Costume Suggestion?

If you can't come up with anything funny or great, don't worry because there is an easy solution.  Did you know that all you have to do to find a crazy idea for what you will be for Halloween, is to just ask Siri?

Ha! And, you can ask her over and over again to see what she says. This year she gave me the following suggestions:

  • Dress up as a witch in white clothing and go as the Mary Jane Bridge ghost from Broussard
  • Dress in yellow and white, then put on some little red horns, and be a deviled egg
  • Get a rhinestone jumpsuit, sideburns, tinted glasses, and some pointy ears. Tell everyone your "Elvish"
  • Grap two halves of a coconut and bang them together....now you're a horse
  • Dress up as a bird, take a selfie, and go as the Millennial Falcon
  • Use a scary mask you make on your own and ripped clothes and be a Rougarou
  • Just wear a big arrow on your shirt and find a Mandalorian to stand next to you. So when they say, "This is the way, there you are"
  • You could carry around a squirt bottle, and say you're a streaming service
  • Dress up like a chapstick and tell people you're the "balm"
  • Jump up and down, over and over, and shake your fist. You can tell people you're antigravity.
  • Put a little red microphone icon on your shirt, then pretend to talk without making any sounds, and you're that person on every video call who's stuck on mute
  • Record the phrase, "Costumes are the best part of Halloween, costumes are the best part of Halloween, then play it on repeat for the whole day. If anyone asks, say you're an "Infinite Loop".
  • You could put on surgeon scrubs, hold some surgical instruments, and tell people you are an "operating system"
  • Just carry around a martini glass full of guacamole, clink glasses with everyone, and shout, "Avocado Toast"
  • Put on a duck bill, carry a basketball and a slide ruler, and be a Technical Fowl

These ideas are easy. Why not have some fun and save some money this year? You can then afford to buy the full-size candy bars and become the hero of your neighborhood.
