Fun Events for University of Louisiana at Lafayette Homecoming Week
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is celebrating Homecoming Week with a full slate of activities all week long leading up to Saturday's game against Georgia State.
The game will start at 7 p.m. at Cajun Field with tailgating starting earlier in the day.
The University is also celebrating its 125th anniversary with celebrations during the entire year.
When you get a chance to visit the Ragin Cajun campus this week, make sure to check for your brick on the Walk of Honor. The bricks represent every graduate of the university over the years.
The project was started with an idea from the Alumni Association President Kenneth Ardoin in 1987 and donations were made to start the Walk of Honor. In 1998, students decided to assess themselves to pay for their bricks.
Among the great activities that are on the schedule this year is the Homecoming parade which starts at 3 p.m. The parade starts at Blackham Coliseum and turns right onto Cajundome Boulevard. The parade then turns from the Boulevard to Cajun Filed where it will go all around the tailgating spots.
All former royalty from past Homecoming celebrations are the grand marshalls of this year's parade.
