The clean-up process is underway in South Louisiana after a line of severe thunderstorms slammed the area Monday evening.

Thousands of people are without power and now we have a better look as to why so many are still without electricity the days after storms hit the area.

Take a look at the damage done to power lines on Vincent Rd near Youngsville.

You can see that power lines are down and power poles have been snapped, which means there's a lot of work to be done in the area before power can be restored.

Slemco crews have been working around the clock to restore electricity but with an extensive amount of damage done to "Feeder Lines' it may take some time until everyone on the grid has power restored.

If you know of anyone that is without power you may want to invite them into your home as temperatures in Acadaian are expected to approach the 90-degree mark early this week.

To report power outages to Slemco call 1-888-275-3626.

Here are a few more photos shared by Slemco on social media while crews attempt to remove debris on some of the lines.
