Crime Stoppers Needs Tips in Louisiana Man’s Death
Law enforcement officials are hoping that someone will come forward with information about a homicide that happened in St. Martin Parish in March 2023.
It was back on Saturday, March 11 when someone picked up the phone in the afternoon to call 911 to report that there was a person dead in the 1600 of Prairie Highway in Breaux Bridge.
According to Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, the Crime Stoppers in the area wants to profile the case in order to hopefully get people with information to come forward about any details they may know about the circumstances surrounding the death of Devonte Jamar Colar of New Iberia.
As we approach the one-year anniversary of the man's death, they hope to get tips through their Crime Stoppers line. This allows anyone with information to remain anonymous, but still offer any valuable information.
Major Ginny Higgins says 29-year-old Colar was last seen by members of his family on February 22 of last year. By February 28, the family went to the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office to report that he was missing.
It was close to two weeks later that Colar's body was found in Breaux Bridge.
