23 People Injured after Car Crashes into Restaurant

In a suburb of Houston, something very unexpected happened to the people dining at a Denny's restaurant on Labor Day.

Law enforcement officials say an SUV drove through the southside wall of the Denny's and 23 people were injured.

Rosenburg Police Department officials say that a man ended up hurting almost two dozen people after the vehicle crashed into one whole wall of the building.

Police say that people as young as 12 and as old as 60 had injuries ranging from minor to severe. Police did add though that none of the injuries were life-threatening.

As far as what caused the crash, officials have not said yet. The crash happened in the late morning hours of Labor Day in the city which is about 35 miles southwest of Houston.

Police reported on their Facebook page the driver, a 30-year-old, was not injured in the incident. The crash left a gaping hole in the side of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant chain, they have made no comment about this situation.

At approximately 11:22 am, September 4, 2023, the Rosenberg Police Department began receiving calls about a vehicle that crashed into the Denny's restaurant located at 27960 Southwest Freeway, Rosenberg, TX 77471. The vehicle crashed into the south wall of the building injuring a total of 23 people inside. The injuries ranged from minor lacerations to severe injuries, but all appear to be non-life threatening. All injured parties were conscious at the time they were transported to local hospitals.
