Y'all remember last week when we were all excited because we were getting that big $125 check from Equifax?

Well, simmer down because there's a good chance we ain't getting squat!

The Federal Trade Commission says that so many people are asking for cash payments linked to the 2017 data breach that there may not be enough money for everyone.

As part of the $300 million settlement, those impacted by the data breach were offered either free credit monitoring or a check for up to $125.

Looks like most people chose the money! (Duh!)

Because of the high response, there simply isn't enough money to go around. The FTC is suggesting people choose the free credit monitoring rather than a $125 check.

If you've already filed a claim, expect an email soon that will allow you the option to switch from the cash option to the free credit monitoring.
