Hunters in St Martinville Find Human Remains

Hunters in St. Martinville stumbled on human remains yesterday.

The St. Martinville Police Department received a call on Tuesday afternoon (12/20) that possible skeletal remains were located in the area of Isadore St.

Police Chief Ricky Martin said an investigation is underway. The circumstances around the cause and manner of death are also under investigation.

Very little other information was released to the public, however.

No details regarding the deceased person's gender or the age of the body have been made available.

The investigation is being conducted by the St. Martinville Police Department with the assistance of the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State University to identify the remains.
