#1 raise the thermostat. When you set the thermostat a little higher, every degree can save 3 to 5 percent on your bill over the course of the summer.

#2 Install ceiling fans. They don't cool your house, but they make you FEEL cooler.That's the whole point, right?

#3 Keep your shades or blinds closed. Lights are cheaper than A/C.
