We've lost far too many legends this year, both in the worlds of music and comedy. Yesterday (Sept. 4), it was officially announced that pioneering comedienne Joan Rivers had passed away. In memory of Joan Rivers and dearly departed GWAR mastermind Dave Brockie, we present GWAR's unforgettable 1990 appearance on 'The Joan Rivers Show.'

Rivers and Brockie were both connected by a multitude of comedic strings, but one kinship was the key to the greatness of the duo: they were both fearless. Never afraid to push the boundaries of taste, both walked an unapologetic line of comedic brutality while spearheading their respective crafts.

Joan Rivers remains the only female host in the history of 'The Tonight Show,' substituting for the iconic Johnny Carson nearly 100 times throughout the 1970s and 1980s. In 1983, she was actually named as Carson's permanent guest host. Joan never stopped working until she passed away, performing standup comedy regularly and hosting 'Fashion Police' until her passing.

In GWAR's guest appearance on 'The Joan Rivers Show,' Oderus Urungus and Beefcake the Mighty engaged in a "unique" conversation with Joan Rivers. The three bounced hysterical lines off each other, creating a moment which has gone viral on YouTube in the 24 years since the show's original airing.
