Gene Simmons Family Jewels – Is Shannon Tweed Really Leaving Him?

So, I caught the season premier last night of "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" and all I can say is WOW, I never saw that coming! If you missed it, it basically boils down to his common law, the lovely Ms. Shannon Tweed and the kids getting sick of "Gene Simmons".

Shannon wants him to slow down and cut the ego rock star act, and the kids want their Dad, not the blood spitting demon. It all hits the fan when Gene misses a family dinner for a business meeting, and pictures pop up on TMZ of Gene leaving the restaurant with 2 young ladies on each arm. By the end of the episode, Shannon packs her bags and leaves him! I have to say, I see both sides here. Shannon and the kids are right. He's missed out on allot of important moments in their lives because of his lifestyle and they've had enough. However, I feel bad for Gene, too. He's been doing what he thinks is the right thing to do for them. He said it on the show last night that he feels money = love, and no one has had a big enough issue with it until now. I don't know what will eventually happen, but this season has started off with a BANG! Personally, I think he's going to realize he's 61 years old, he has an amazing family he doesn't want to loose, and he's going to slow down and ask Shannon to marry him. I mean, he's obviously going to pass away before her, so who is he going to leave this empire he's worked so hard for his whole life? I know that sounds harsh, but that's the way he thinks. I also know the issues with them are far more complicated than money. But, one of the main reasons he hasn't wanted to marry is because he doesn't want to sign over half his fortune if things don't work out. I do hope these two kids work it out...we'll see! New episode next Tuesday on A&E!
