Students who attend Lafayette High School have now returned to their classes according to the Lafayette Police Department Spokesman Alton Trahan.

He says it was around 6:30 this morning that someone reported that is smelled like gas, so everyone was moved outside of the school, but they were still on school property.

Trahan says firefighters did smell a little something so they fully investigated.

They were able to fix a small leak that was coming from one of the tops of the buildings at Lafayette High.

They think right now that they are dealing with a loose connection of a line probably caused by all of the high winds reported in the area from Hurricane Delta.

The company who does repairs for the school system worked out the issue.

All students and faculty were then routine to the high school to resume their normal day.
