Former Saints WR Joe Horn Calls Roger Goodell ‘The Devil’
Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver, fan favorite, and team Hall of Famer Joe Horn is staying busy in his life after football.
The 4-time Pro Bowler is busy producing, distributing and promoting his Bayou 87 BBQ sauce and smoked sausage, but still stays tied into the league, following the NFL on a daily basis.
In a recent interview with thefootballgirl.com, Horn shared stories from his youth, an improbable run to the NFL, his fear of flying, beating the odds, fans, Louisiana, his BBQ sauce, his famous touchdown cell-ebration in 2003, deflategate, and Roger Goodell.
Horn has always spoken his mind, and he didn't hold his tongue when talking about the NFL Commissioner.
In fact, Horn was simply asked his thoughts on the current state of the NFL, prompting him to lash into Goodell.
This is what he had to say to thefootballgirl.com.
Here’s what I don’t like. I don’t like what Roger Goodell is doing. He has so much power that he can almost shut people down. I just don’t like him. And I don’t like that on draft day these kids don’t know that they’re hugging the devil. I hate to see kids that are lost and then happy but they really don’t know that the man they’re hugging will rip their throat apart.
Truth be told, Horn isn't the first person to call Goodell "The Devil", and he won't be the last.
While the words may seem harsh, Horn has probably heard much worse about the Commish from Saints fans over the years.
