Former Lafayette Schools Superintendent Arrested
Lafayette Police have arrested a man who was once the Superintendent of Lafayette Parish Public Schools. According to police reports Burnell Lemoine was taken into custody on New Year's Eve following an incident in the Saints Street area.
According to that report, Lemoine was taken into custody after it was alleged he exposed himself to an undercover police officer in the 1400 block of St. John Street. No other details of Lemoine's arrest have been made public as of this time.
Lemoine served as Superintendent of Lafayette Parish Schools from July 2007 to December of 2011. He began his career with the school system in 1991. According to reports Lemoine posted a $5,000 bond and was released from custody.
