[UPDATE] Jazzfest has moved swiftly, and booked Widespread Panic to replace Fleetwood Mac, who replaced The Rolling Stones.

Widespread Panic was a staple on the Thursday nights at Jazzfest, but the festival decided to move on from booking jam bands on those nights. Of course, when your hand is forced, you get a go-to.

Another bad break for Jazz Fest comes on the heels of the Rolling Stones cancellation of their US tour due to medical issues with frontman Mick Jagger as Fleetwood Mac has canceled their tour as well which affects their date in New Orleans. According to Consequence of Sound, the decision was made to cancel the remaining dates of the tour due to Stevie Nicks being diagnosed with the flu.

According to a statement from the band “While she is feeling better already, management has consulted with her doctors and have decided to reschedule the remaining four shows of their North American tour to allow for her full recovery."

While other dates will be rescheduled, the appearance at Jazz Fest can't, due to the nature of the festival date. With Jazz Fest set to begin in around two weeks, the hunt is on for another replacement for the Thursday night show.
