‘Flash’ Star Grant Gustin Reacts to Ezra Miller’s ‘Justice League’ Costume
The flurry of Comic-Con 2016 afforded us our first look at the big-screen Justice League all suited up, while a few doors down saw DC’s TV heroes similarly previewing their next appearances. TV Flash Grant Gustin even had a chance to check out his big-screen counterpart’s Flash-ier costume, noting that the CW version had more of a “street, vintage” feel.
ScreenRant got the chance to actually show Gustin the new Flash costume after its debut in Warner Bros.’ Hall H presentation, showing Ezra Miller outfitted in the complex, armored design. Gustin had heard the costume was likely to draw influence from the Injustice look, but approved of the change nonetheless:
Oh sick, I haven’t seen it [is handed phone displaying Justice League image]… They’re completely different. Yeah, I mean I was kind of expecting this, I heard it was going to be kind of like Injustice. I hadn’t seen this yet, what else is out. Sorry I’m scrolling through the whole thing, I haven’t seen this picture. Yeah, that’s sick. Um… yeah, it’s sick. I’m glad it’s really different though [laughs]. Because ours is like a street, vintage feel that I don’t think has been done in any other version of the character.
It’s possible Gustin is referring to previous live-action Flashes, including his on-screen father John Wesley Shipp, whose own speedsuit bore a distinctly more produced feel than the CW version. Either way, Gustin found himself again defending the dual Flash casting, throwing praise to Ezra Miller:
There’s every chance that Gustin’s Flash winds up refining the look over Season 3, but which iteration do you prefer?
