    What hours are the polls open in Lousiana?

    Polls are open from 6 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Voters in line at 8 PM will be allowed to vote. Click here for more FAQs.

    What type of ID do I need?

    Voters must give their name and address to a commissioner, and provide your Louisiana driver's license, a Louisiana special ID or according to the Secretary of State's website, "other generally recognized picture identification card that contains the name and signature of the applicant or completing an Identification Affidavit if no photo identification is available." According to Louisiana law, a voter without photo ID is subject to challenge. More on how to identify yourself here.
