Five Things You Need to Know Before You Vote in Louisiana

If you're unsure about your polling place, this link will take you to the Louisiana Secretary of State website's voter portal. Just type in your name HERE to find out where to cast your ballot.

There's a lot to vote on this time, so it's a good idea to print a sample ballot to take into the booth with you. Here's where you can get yours.

Polls are open from 6 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Voters in line at 8 PM will be allowed to vote. Click here for more FAQs.

Voters must give their name and address to a commissioner, and provide your Louisiana driver's license, a Louisiana special ID or according to the Secretary of State's website, "other generally recognized picture identification card that contains the name and signature of the applicant or completing an Identification Affidavit if no photo identification is available." According to Louisiana law, a voter without photo ID is subject to challenge. More on how to identify yourself here.
