Five Finger Death Punch Tackle ‘Biggest Mannequin Challenge to Date’ With 10,000 Fans [Watch]
The Harlem Shake? Planking? Tebowing? Forget 'em, kids, because there's a new trend sweeping the boundless Internet: The Mannequin Challenge! For the uninitiated, this craze began around the tail of October, but has already gained substantial traction and Five Finger Death Punch got in on the fun, engaging their crowd of 10,000 to stand together as if frozen in time.
Guitarist Zoltan Bathory uploaded a video to his Instagram page (seen below), which starts off walking between a parted crowd, most with raised fists or devil horns and there's an immediate sense of eeriness. Singer Ivan Moody ends the moment with a bellowing "F--k yes!" and the crowd responds with a roar.
Following this clip is footage from the stage of not only the crowd of newly minted mannequins, but the band striking frozen poses as well. "We attempted the world's biggest mannequin challenge to date — wow — it's like herding 10,000 + cats — but we pulled it off more or less ... Yep — over 10,000 frozen metalheads," wrote FFDP in the post's caption. The video ends showing the band back in action performing "Jekyll and Hyde" off 2015's Got Your Six.
On Nov. 8, Hillary Clinton participated in the Mannequin Challenge with rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, which can be seen here.
Five Finger Death Punch are in the midst of a co-headlining run with Shinedown and support coming from Sixx: A.M. and As Lions. To see if the remaining stops will be in a city near you, head to our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
