First Trailer For FOX’s ‘Gotham’ Shows The Origins Of Batman, Penguin, Catwoman And Riddler [Video]

It what appears to be DC's answer to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the upcoming FOX drama 'Gotham' looks to be pretty promising. Ben McKenzie stars as Detective Jim Gordon, charged with the task of solving the biggest murder case in Gotham City history, the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne.

In Gotham, Gordon helps and befriends the Wayne's young son Bruce and promises him that he will catch his parent's killer. Of course, the young Bruce Wayne will grow up to be Batman, the vigilante that all of Gotham's criminals fear.

The show also shows the origins of Oswald Copplepot, also known as The Penguin, Dr. Edward Nygma, aka The Riddler, Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman and many other characters from the comic series. Watch the first official trailer for FOX's 'Gotham' below:
