Dang, Thanos is shredded. Gone is the lazy titan who can’t be bothered to get his giant purple butt up off that excessively swanky space chair. As teased in the post-credits scene from Captain America: Civil War, this Thanos means business, and thanks to a new statue unveiled at D23, you can see just how serious he is about obliterating the MCU in Avengers: Infinity War. It’s kind of intimidating, TBH.

Josh Brolin’s mega-villain. Lucky for those of us who aren’t in Anaheim this weekend, attendees have been sharing photos of the new and improved Thanos (along with their rightfully shook reactions) all over social media. The second image shows an actual human being to give you a better idea of the statue’s size, while the third image offers another angle on the mad titan:

It certainly looks like Thanos has whipped himself into world-destroying shape to face off with the Avengers in Infinity War, which boasts the MCU’s largest roster of superheroes to date. Along with the usual suspects, the film features more recent Marvel additions like Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, as well as the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018.
