FIGHTs + The Wooden Wings + Rareluth + Tandem Live At The District
A great local indie rock show is coming to The District! FIGHTs along with The Wooden Wings, Rareluth, and Tandem will be live on stage. Keep reading for details on the bands, and this show!
Start with two female vocalists shorter than your kid sister, a pair of rough-edged, Southern-tinged voices belting out notes sultry and fierce. With a couple of amped-up guitars and a steady percussive backbone, The Wooden Wings carve out their own sound in the blues-rooted city of New Orleans: a folk-fused brand of rock ‘n’ roll driven by hypnotic harmonies atop ear-catching melodies.
A three-song Demo available for free on the band’s website
Rareluth sounds like the type of band that should have made its way onto the soundtrack for the movie Drive. Throughout their debut Demo, lead singer Christine Peirce releases her ghost-like vocals over twinkling synths and a dynamic rhythm section. Living proof that great synth-driven bands are not exclusive to the big cities.
“Like a fire in the night, they came to satisfy.” TANDEM is a four-piece rock/pop band from Lafayette, LA. After forming just 2 years ago in early 2012, the band has already shared the stage with a multitude of national acts including Aranda, Trapt, Sevendust, Pop Evil, 3 Pill Morning, Taproot and Nothing More. In the summer of 2013, TANDEM released their debut 6-song 'Bright Nights' EP. The album was recorded on analog tape in 5 days at Blade Studios, produced by Grammy-winner, Brady Blade, and engineered by Chris Bell. Since then, the band has played their home state extensively (and some in Texas), garnering a loyal following. They constantly play at various venues, festivals and fundraisers, displaying a passionate chemistry during their unforgettable and enthralling high-energy live performances. Come dance with TANDEM in 2014.
