Sorry Kim Kardashian. Although I was a fan of the commercials, it seems all that Sketchers Shape-Ups will do lighten your wallet, not your waistline.

According to TMZ.com, The Federal Trade Commission has determined Sketchers made unfounded claims about its Shape-Ups shoes. According to the FTC, Sketchers lied about clinical studies which the company said proved the shoes help people lose weight and strengthen muscles in the butt, legs and stomach.

As a result, Sketchers has agreed to pay $45 Million in settlement costs, and offer a refund to anyone who bought the bogus kicks.
