FBI App Can Help Parents Locate Missing Kids at Mardi Gras
Every parent has felt that moment of terror. For me, it usually happened in a grocery store. I would be shopping keeping what I thought was a satisfactory eye on my kids and then all of a sudden they are gone. Fortunately for me, they were only around the next aisle but at a big event like Mardi Gras parents being separated from kids can escalate from a moment of concern to a living nightmare in a matter of moments.
That's why many law enforcement agencies are asking parents to download the FBI Child ID app. This app allows you to build a profile about your child with important information you might not be able to recall in the heat of the moment if your child were to go missing.
Data like the child's height, weight, age, the parents' contact information, as well as a current photo can be loaded into the app. Then should the unthinkable happen, all it will take is a push of a button and information about your child is instantly in the hands of law enforcement professionals across the state.
If you're concerned about privacy, the app meets and abides by all child privacy laws. It also includes some helpful tips on discussion topics you should have with your children before you head out into the throngs of Mardi Gras revelers.
The app is free to download. It is available for Apple users in the App Store. Android users may find the app available for download at Google Play.
