Erath Man Dies In Midday Crash

82-year-old Whitney Walker of Erath has passed away after a midday crash on Thursday put him into the hospital.

La. State Police Trooper Brooks David says Walker was stopped at the intersection of Grosse Isle Road and LA Highway 14 when, for unknown reasons, he drove his truck onto the highway and was struck on the driver's side door by another truck which was traveling westbound on LA Highway 14. That driver, 40-year-old Bryan Domingue of Scott, was wearing his seat belt and suffered moderate injuries.

There was a passenger Walker's truck. That passenger suffered moderate injuries. Both the passenger and Walker were also wearing their seat belts.

Police continue to investigate but they do believe that impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
