Edwards Expands Eligibility for COVID-19 Vaccine
Governor John Bel Edwards made it official on Tuesday: anyone 16 to 64 with one or more health conditions defined by the CDC are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. This also applies to staff of congregate living facilities.
KPEL News reported this on Monday after an email was sent to roughly 400 Louisiana pharmacies from a representative of the Louisiana Independent Pharmacies Association. On his twitter account, Governor Edwards announced the health conditions covered under the eligibility announcement.
The press conference also consisted of Edwards and the Louisiana Department of Health going through the new CDC report that stated that people who are fully vaccinated can gather without wearing masks.
