Our next stop on the Eat Lafayette trail brings us to Favor Cuisine on North University in Lafayette for some delicious Creole home cooking.

We sat down with Dale Faulk, the owner of Favor Cuisine to talk about (and taste, of course) some of the dishes they offer.

Dale served up several dishes for us to try and, I must say, we were not disappointed!

We started our plate lunch round-robin with Favor Cuisine's Eat Lafayette Special: Fried Catfish served on Crawfish Pasta with two sides.

The catfish had the perfect crust: well-seasoned and crispy, leaving the catfish flaky, juicy, and delicious!

The Crawfish Pasta was delicious; spiced just right.

Choose from any of the day's sides or salad.

I won't lie about my wandering eye, though: the whole time I was sampling the Eat Lafayette Special, I had my eye on what was next: the Shrimp PoBoy!

Overflowing with grilled shrimp with lettuce and tomato on an amazing poboy bun, that sandwich did not disappoint!

The shrimp were seasoned well and were cooked perfectly, allowing them to remain tender and juicy.

And how many places in Lafayette can you get Fried Garfish?

If Fried Garfish is your thing, you need to keep an eye on Favor Cuisine's menu for your chance to dig in.

They serve a Garfish Steak fried golden brown, seasoned well, served with French Fries and a dinner roll.

Next up was comfort food for my soul: Meatloaf!

Thick slabs of meatloaf over mashed potatoes or rice with a heaping ladle of gravy and two sides - so much food that you'll want to handle the plate with both hands!

The meatloaf was seasoned well and, for me, made 2 meals.

If chicken wings with a Creole twist might be your thing, the next plate we were served needs to be on your wish list.

The chicken had a nice, crisp crust that, once your teeth broke through, revealed tender, juicy chicken with a delicious flavor profile.
And, finally: the barbecued chicken.

We ordered it in classic Sunday plate-lunch style: with rice dressing and macaroni and cheese.

How did it taste? Well, just look at it! We'll allow the picture to speak for itself.

Let's eat, lafayette!
