If your home or business was damaged by either hurricanes Laura or Delta, a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center will open up in New Iberia Tuesday morning to help you.

The hours of operation for the FEMA facility will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., and then Saturday hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can visit the center anytime they are open, and officials say that it is not required for you to make an appointment. You can just show up.

Because of the current situation with COVID, anyone who wants to visit the center will have to have a mask on, or they must maintain some sort of covering over their face.

They have designated an area at the Iberia Parish Airfield Old Runway Site No. 1 as were the Disaster Recovery Center will be located. The actual physical address is 4917 Industrial Dr. in New Iberia.

At the FEMA Center you can receive a variety of help including the following:

  • Employees can answer questions you may have
  • You can check in on the status of your application to FEMA
  • You can visit the center to turn in any paperwork that is needed. The items will be scanned and given back to you on site.
