Did Google Share Your Private Videos With Strangers?

Google admits they may have sent people's private videos to strangers in a photo service mix-up.

At some point in November 2019, Google says there was a four day period where people using Google Photos may have received personal videos that were not theirs. The good news is, Google has written to those affected, vowing that it will never happen again.

There is no way to tell how many people were affected or how many videos were leaked.

We are notifying people about a bug that may have affected users who used Google Takeout to export their Google Photos content between November 21 and November 25. These users may have received either an incomplete archive, or videos—not photos—that were not theirs. We fixed the underlying issue and have conducted an in-depth analysis to help prevent this from ever happening again. We are very sorry this happened.

The good news is that the breach only affected less than 0.01 percent of people who use the Takeout service but the bad news is that the number of those affected is still substantial being that more than a billion people use the service.
