CNN has been doing a lot of press leading up to the 86th Annual Academy Awards. As we know, the whole internet wants Leonardo DiCaprio to finally win an Oscar. But did CNN leak his Oscar win weeks in advance?

A CNN reporter was doing a pre-award show piece, and actually held up a plaque made for the award winners that will be soldered onto the actual award. The plaque that was held up was that of Leonardo DiCaprio for Best Performance By An Actor In A Leading Role for The Wolf of Wall Street.

The explanation from Evil Beet Gossip:

Turns out, the explanation is that the Academy Awards organizers apparently have a plaque like this made for every single nominee, in the case that they do turn out to be the winner.

Do you think this was a spoiler, or do you think they really make one for every nominee?

I guess we'll find out for sure when the 86th annual Academy Awards are held on March 2nd.
