This New Year's Eve, New Orleans will join in the classic celebrations, and become the first time that Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve has done a live Central Time Zone countdown!

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017 will appropriately have a fleur-de-lis drop near Jackson Square to ring in the New Year.

From the official press release –

Known for its vibrant culture and deep musical roots, New Orleans is the ideal choice to host our first-ever Central Time Zone countdown. We are excited to expand our tradition of ringing in the New Year to the ‘Big Easy’.

The Allstate Fan Fest will serve as the backdrop for “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2017” in New Orleans. For the past eleven years, Allstate has taken over New Orleans before the Allstate Sugar Bowl by hosting family-friendly games and activities, pep rallies and musical performances.

The Allstate® Fan Fest is free to the public and open from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Saturday, December 31, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 1. Fan Fest is located at Jackson Square in the Jax Brewery parking lot off Decatur Street.

Although it doesn't seem like this year's artists have been announced yet, some previous headliners include:

Usher, Imagine Dragons, Train, Fitz and the Tantrums, O.A.R, FUN., Huey Lewis & the News, Cee-Lo Green, Kelly Clarkson, the Neville Brothers and New Orleans-own Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Other past performers include Blues Traveler, Darius Rucker, Eddie Money, Gin Blossoms, Lady Antebellum and Lifehouse.
