LSU running back Derrius Guice has been listed as one of the top ten contenders for the 2017 Heisman Trophy.

Pro Football Focus has listed Guice at number seven in their early top ten.

In 2016, Guice led the SEC in rushing as a sophomore, accumulating 1,387 yards, to go along with 15 touchdowns, while splitting time with Leonard Fournette.

The 5-foot-11, 211-pound Guice rushed for 436 yards and three touchdowns in 2015, while earning SEC All-Freshman accolades.

A native of Baton Rouge, and a standout at Catholic High, Guice averaged 7.6 yards-per-carry in 2016.

Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner, is listed as the top candidate, followed by Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma St. quarterback Mason Rudolph, USC quarterback Sam Darnold, and Penn St. running back Saquon Barkley at 2-5.

6-10 consists of Washington quarterback Jake Browning, Guice, Florida St. safety Derwin James, Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts, and USF quarterback Quinton Flowers.
