Some areas around Acadiana have posted curfews for their residents due to the weather coming through in the next couple of days.

Evangeline Parish

The Evangeline Parish Police Jury has announced a curfew for Tuesday night from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

According to KATC, "no vehicles will be allowed on any roads inside Evangeline Parish with the exception of vehicles of first responders, law enforcement and fire officials, and medical personnel."

Officials will decide if a Wednesday night curfew is necessary within the next 36 hours.

St. Landry Parish

St. Landry Parish President Bill Fontenot declared a state of emergency and curfew today in preparation for tomorrow's weather forecast, which looks to bring temperatures below 25 degrees and icy precipitation.

Cheryl Castille, assistant to the president, said the curfew is in effect Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Road closures will be in effect once the streets begin icing over.

St. Martin Parish

St. Martin Parish is the latest parish to issue a curfew order for Tuesday night, January 28, 2014.

According to KATC, Parish President Guy Cormier and Sheriff Ronny Theriot have issued a 6 p.m.-to-6 a.m. curfew for the entire parish, including all of the incorporated municipalities.

Only emergency personnel will be allowed on the parish's roads during the curfew.

Jennings, LA

The City of Jennings is now issuing a curfew between the hours of 10:00 pm tonight until 6:00 am tomorrow morning.
