Creed singer Scott Stapp's troubles have been well documented over the past week, ever since the vocalist posted a public video statement revealing he was "completely penniless," alleging that his bank accounts had been frozen and denying that he had been using drugs. While guitarist Mark Tremonti said he was unable to reach Stapp, bassist Brian Marshall reveals he has made contact with the singer.

In recently filed divorce papers and subsequent legal documents, Stapp's estranged wife Jaclyn has claimed that Scott has been using drugs such as cocaine, PCP, amphetamines and more. She also alleged that he threatened to kill himself and sent her a bizarre series of text messages.

For his part, Scott has released three public video statements denying these accusations and insisting he's not using drugs, but admitting he's in financial trouble and has been living in either a van or a Holiday Inn over the past few weeks. Now comes word from Creed bassist Brian Marshall that he did make contact with Scott, saying the singer "seems to be okay." He writes on Facebook:

I just wanted everyone to know that I've reached out to Scott Stapp. We talked briefly yesterday and he seems to be okay... I let him know that we were all worried and if he needed a sober friend to talk to that I'm always available..

Meanwhile, Tremonti replied via Twitter to a fan who questioned why the guitarist isn't able to post messages on Creed's social sites as Stapp seemingly has taken over the band's Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Creed's Facebook has been inundated with "Now Playing" posts, as Scott Stapp seems to be sending messages via the songs he's currently listening to during his time of crisis. Stapp also posted this message on Friday:

I'm going to step back and let God control everything from here on. I should have continued to do that before I allowed my hurt, frustration, and emotions take control and post those videos. All I can say is that the truth will set you (me) free, and I'm holding on to Jeremiah 29:11 and Isaiah 44:8. This is a test of faith, and I will NEVER give up or lose my faith. No matter what. This will be my last statement until after justice is served. Love to you all my friends.
