Crawfish Festival Unveils 2019 Poster Design
Festivals are a way of life here in South Louisiana. One of the most endearing symbols of any festival is the "official poster" for the event. Many of us have collected these pieces of art from festivals across the area. Some of us even bother to have them framed and hung on our walls because they are a lot more than just a flyer touting an upcoming event.
Last night at Pont Breaux's Restaurant in Breaux Bridge officials with the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival had the unveiling of this year's festival poster. As you can see, it's going to be hard to miss this one.
The poster was created by Tony Bernard of Lafayette. Bernard is well renowned for his artistic contributions to many festivals across the state. Of course, his gallery on Johnston Street features many of his current past projects that are available for purchase.
The Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival began officially in 1960. It was a spinoff festival from the town's Centennial Celebration and was a perfect way to embrace the 1959 designation by the state legislature that Breaux Bridge was the Crawfish Capital of the World.
This year's festival dates are set for May 3rd through May 5th at Parc Hardy in Breaux Bridge.
