Clay Higgins Addresses Issue Of St. Landry Parish Church Fires [Video]
Congressman Clay Higgins took to social media to send a message. That message should be very clear to that or those individuals who are responsible for three different fires at three different churches in St. Landry Parish over the past few weeks.
Sounding a bit like an evangelist at times and the stern voice of the long arm the law at other times, Higgins emplored those responsible to turn themselves into authorities.
Here is the text of Higgins comments, as reported by KATC TV.
There can be many reasons why this happened, none of them are righteous. If you participated this, you have succumbed to evil. Powers and principalities are controlling your life. I encourage you to look deep into your heart and step away from the darkness that has enveloped you and turn yourself in because you will be caught. You will be. You will be caught, you will be arrested, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Your only chance for freedom, real freedom, spiritual freedom from the pain and heartache that you’ve caused, this affront against God himself and his children; your only path to freedom is through jail. I advise you to hear my heart and turn yourself in because you’re going to jail one way or the other.
State Fire Marshal Butch Browning has confirmed that the three church fires at historically African-American churches are connected. Although Browning would not elaborate on just how the fires are believed to be connected when asked by reporters.
Meanwhile, the congregations of Greater Union, St. Mary and Mt. Pleasant Baptist churches met for worship services at alternate locations. This, while deputies from the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's office maintained a vigil over other churches in the parish.
