A Lafayette grand jury indicted City Marshal Brian Pope on Wednesday.

Pope was indicted on two counts of perjury and three counts use of public funds to urge electors to vote for a candidate.

If convicted on the perjury charge, Pope faces a fine of up to $10,000 and up to five years in prison on each count.

If convicted on the use of public funds charge, Pope faces a fine of up to $500 and up to one year in prison on each count.
