Chili’s Moving Into Former O’Charley’s Location
The former O'Charley's building on Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette is getting a new tenant as Chili's Bar & Grill will be moving into the space.
According to the Acadiana Advocate, Brinker International (parent company of Chili's) has obtained a new construction permit with the city of Lafayette for property in the River Marketplace at 4301 Ambassador Caffery Parkway.
Chili's currently has three locations in Lafayette. A spokesperson with Stirling Properties, which represents the landowner in the deal, says that one of the restaurants will be moving to this location but did not specify which one.
One of the Lafayette Chili's locations is nearby at 3905 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, so the prevailing thought is that this would be the likely candidate for re-location.
The building has been vacant since O'Charley's abruptly closed in March 2017.
Construction on the building to turn it into a Chili's is reportedly said to take around 144 days, weather permitting.
