Louisiana State Police Troop D will be holding a sobriety and seatbelt checkpoint this Friday, March 13 staring at 8 o'clock that night somewhere in Calcasieu Parish.

State Police have two simple messages:

Drive sober or get pulled over
Buckle your seatbelt

State Police statistics show that 58 percent of people who died in crashes were not wearing a seatbelt.

Officers want everyone to always designate a sober driver before you go to a place where alcohol is going to be consumed.

What do you do if you see someone that you think is impaired, you can call *LSP (*577) or local law enforcement.
