According to reports, a New Orleans area man has been arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot the mayor. Apparently, his frustration with the trash pick-up issue that has persisted across the city is what led to the threat made to 911-operators.
It has been nearly three weeks since Hurricane Ida battered the southeastern portion of Louisiana. And while power has been restored to much of the region, in New Orleans, residents are still waiting for trash pickups to resume.
A Waffle House in Thibodaux was allegedly cited last week for staying open after curfew as they fed linemen in town working to restore power to the area.
Reports are saying that as many as ten people in New Orleans have died as a possible result of extreme heat conditions combined with power outages. One of those possible deaths include a photographer who recently sent out cries for help to President Biden and Mayor LaToya Cantrell on social media amidst the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.
What started as someone asking for help delivering ham sandwiches has turned into hundreds of people donating hundreds of items and thousands of dollars!
