We get a release date for the remastered Resident Evil remake as well as one of the game's most iconic scenes redone in HD.

Capcom has announced the official release date and pricing for Resident Evil in North America. This game is an HD, remastered version of the 2002 GameCube remake made from Capcom's 1996 classic. This game helped put survival horror on the map. While Shinji Mikami and Capcom have long parted ways, this game will bring us back to a more enjoyable time of survival horror, before everything became a mediocre hybrid of Resident Evil 4 mixed with action/shooter mechanics. That's right, we're talking about low ammo, bad voice acting and an EKG meter for health.

Save some room for an ink ribbon, because Resident Evil is launching on Jan. 20 for $19.99 on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. Now if only we could get an HD remake of Resident Evil 2.

You're all alone...
