Nirvana producer Butch Vig recently discussed the crazy mood swings Kurt Cobain would go through during the recording process for 'Nevermind,' the album which made Nirvana a household name. The record will celebrate it's 20th anniversary soon; and the occasion gave Vig the opportunity to recall a difficult period for the lead signer of Nirvana.
"They rolled up in a van for that first session. They've driven 1900 miles non-stop and they probably hadn't taken a bath or a shower in three or four days," Vig tells Rolling Stone. "Kurt was charming and witty, but he would go through these mood swings. He'd be totally engaged – then all of a sudden a light switch would go off and he'd go sit in the corner and completely disappear into himself."
